Thermal transfer technology uses a printhead containing a row of tiny resistors. When an electrical current is applied to the resistors, they heat up and the heat is then transferred to the backside of a ribbon that has ink on the front side. The heat from one resistor releases a small amount of ink and creates a dot. A series of dots create images such as bar codes, graphics or
